BEWARE: Processed foods are load with artificial ingredients and additives like high fructose corn syrup, which has added enzymes to make the product sweeter. Also don’t forget to watch out for foods containing hydrogenated oils, which is a chemically induced process used to turn it into a solid form.

So your best bet is to stick with whole foods which are much more nutritious, satisfying, and have a longer effect, especially when it comes to curbing your appetite. Plus instead having just a little bit you can “Eat The Whole Thing!”

Here’s a few Quick Tips:

*Try a hand full of nuts instead of chips.

Chow down on a small bowl of fresh grapes instead of M&M’S.

*Delight yourself with a half turkey sandwich; it’ll be more filling than the same calories’ worth or pretzels.

*Get your crunch on with your favorite protein bar (which will give you way more lasting energy) than eating a small vending machine bag of chocolate chip cookies.

                         FITNESS PLAN!

Step 1,

1. Eat A Good Nutritious (Healthy) Breakfast.

I added this as the first thing on your active list because it will help you to start your day off right. Here’s why! Eating foods that provide healthy nutrients will instantly give you Brain power, as well as fuel your body with the energizing power it needs. Like what you’ll get by doing Step 2,

2. Eat More Often

Make it a good habit to eat something healthy and Nutritious every 4 or 5 hours like fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains (which will help you stay revved up all day) plus provide your body with the daily fiber it needs. But don’t forget it’s important also to add in a little lean protein such as, a hand full of nuts, a cup of yogurt, or even munch on a few pieces of low fat Mozzarella cheese sticks, or squares. (These are All Good Breakfast Treats Too!) And they go well with helping you to do Step 3,

3. Drink More Water)

  It’ll help keep your body hydrated, refreshed, and give you more energy in aiding you to do this, Step 4.

4. Stay Active. Here’s a fact. Most people think when it comes to exercising if they’re not working out at the gym or doing exercises that make them drip with sweat it’s not effective, which is not true. In fact, it’s a big misconception. Hey, don’t get me wrong. Yes! Doing cardio exercises like running, boxing, or dancing are all great ways to condition your heart.  However, it’s not the only way to burn calories and to get your blood flowing. There’s another very important statistically proven way that’s often over looked, that works as well.

What is it? It is doing task driven( in motion) activities such as cooking, cleaning, gardening,  fixing things/ or repairing, or simple activities like, taking the stairs instead of the elevator for short flights, or if you’re working a desk bound job, stand up while talking on the phone, and or if possible pace around instead of sitting down.

Now here’s the big shocker, research studies show that doing such things actually burn about 70% of daily calories. WOW! Now, Get to washing those left over dishes.

“Make this holiday a reason to say, “Cheers to The Season” by doing your best to prevent tears after the season when you step on a scale.”

Don’t let working so hard to stay in shape for the last six months be a waste by letting a few weeks of gorging glory and holiday fun affect your waste line. You can still Eat, Drink & Be Very Smart about keeping in shape during this festive time. You don’t have to over due it. Hello all, it’s Joey, after a long hot summer, trying my cool Fab 5 Fitness Tips will help you to get back into the Groove and Keep Fashionably Fit For Fall.

It’s not enough to say: “I want to lose weight” and it’s too much to say, “I want to lose twenty pounds in the next two weeks.” It’s hard to achieve a goal, any goal if it’s too open-ended or simply unrealistic. Not only will you be less motivated, but it’s easier to bail out on goals that are too general. Be specific, yet realistic with goal-setting. Losing 1-2 pounds per week is highly do-able and it’s also more likely that you’ll keep the weight off.

Note: Adding in a personal daily affirmation will encourage and remind you just how important it is to keep on track.

AFFIRMATION: Slowly but surely is DEFINITELY the right way to go!

Create a workout that you will enjoy. Variety is the spice of life and a varied plan will motivate you to stick with it. Make sure your plan consists of a range of exercises – some that are easy to do as well as more challenging ones. There are three keys to a balanced exercise plan:
Cardio (Dance, Walking, Swimming, Tennis etc.)
Stretching (Exotic Tone, Yoga, Pilates)
Strength Training (Stretch bands, weights, exotic tone)

AFFIRMATION: My personal exercise plan is so much fun. It gives me energy. Makes me feel fit and sexy! It is a daily enjoyment!

If you missed your workout today or splurged on your Great Aunt’s Ultimate Brownies, don’t give up. Everyone has hits and misses because no one is perfect! Always be kind to yourself. Tomorrow is another day. And remember, even a little exercise is better than none.
AFFIRMATION: Less can sometimes be more! Rejuvenation comes in all forms.

Health officials recommend we workout for 30-60 minutes 6 days a week – WOW! I know what you’re thinking! “Not a chance! Not with my busy schedule!” But don’t give up hope, there’s good news! Short workouts can still be quite effective. 10, 15, or 20 minute increments during the day can really make a world of difference when you stay focused and committed to a plan.
AFFIRMATION: Doing something rather than nothing makes me feel accomplished. It always leaves me feeling better about myself.

Even mom said it till she was out of breath. But it’s true! Start your day off right and you’re more likely to end it right. If you starve yourself until lunch, you’re more likely to gorge down more than you need. And just getting to lunchtime without that nutritional boost in the morning can be tough! Eating a well-balanced diet gives you more lasting energy. Now try theses,
Breakfast Smarts:
• Whole grains: (fiber) oatmeal, bran muffins, wheat toast or cereal
• Protein: low fat yogurt, egg whites, nuts, or protein shakes
• Fruits: Apples, oranges, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, juice

AFFIRMATION: Eating nutritionally is always the better choice it makes me feel more energized, aware, and motivated, like I’m ready for life!
