Combat Your Hunger Head On! Reach Your Slim/Trim Fitness Goal! Know that you can’t Spring into SHAPE by starving yourself. Why not? Starvation slows down your metabolism which could prevent you from dropping any unwanted pounds. So in order to prevent that from happening you must plan a “Snack Attack.” What’s a “Snack Attack?” It’s getting a groove on by taking the time to fuel your body with good nutritious healthy eats every four or five hours. What will that do? It will boost your metabolism, and help you to get closer to reaching your slim/trim fitness goal. How does it work? Like this! MAKE HEALTHY SNACK CHOICES You should keep a stash of healthy snacks on hand such as nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios etc.) dried or whole fruit, carrot or celery sticks, dried snap peas, whole grain crackers, or low fat cheese squares etc. Know that “Snack Attack” foods like these have great nutritional value, as well as the ability to replenish and or refuel your body when hunger pains strike. Here’s another important factor: Nearly all these items are durable enough to be kept in your car, desk drawer, or back pack. Now, here’s what else you should do. Always keep a bottle of water handy. Listen to your body; when you hear “I’m thirsty”, know that it’s not craving a sugary/calorie filled soda. Instead, what it really desires is a nice cool drink or water. It’s the best way to quench your thirst, and replenish fluids to your muscles. So don’t wait until it’s too late, get your “Snack Attack” on now! Seven Sensational Tips How to

Make Haste; Not Waste.

1. Don’t eat your Big meal on an empty stomach (If so, you’ll certainly over do it.)

2. Skip the thought of skipping breakfast. (As it will fuel you body and too help curb your appetite.)

3. Do snack on something health every few hours leading up to the big event, as it will keep your metabolism grooving. For instance feel free to indulge in a hand full of mixed nuts, blueberries, strawberries, the veggie platter, or a few small cheese squares on whole grain crackers.

4. Drink plenty of water through out the day; it too will help curb your appetite. Plus it’ll also give you a great boost of energy.

5. Do me a favor, “Put all your food on one plate?” That’s right pile it up!

*That way you can portion size your meal, and still get a taste of everything you want without over doing it. Then, hopefully, you won’t need to go back for seconds, or thirds, or maybe fourths.

6. Sneak in your Physical activity.

*Play games with your friends, and or loved ones that’ll get you moving.

*Have a dance contest to see who has the hottest, or perhaps the funniest moves.

*Take a brisk walk, or go for a hike up your favorite trail, while you sing like a jay bird reciting your favorite holiday carols.

*Play in the snow, or if you live in sunny California on the beach.

7. Laugh a lot; know that it’s not just good for your abs but it’s equally beneficial for your soul.

MAKE IT A FEAT.

Here’s how you can keep the burgers and fries off your thighs. You can do this by turning a potentially unhealthy feat into a pleasant and healthy treat. Here’s how! What you need to know, and do, when you’re eating out is how to act on your options.

You can still enjoy a good meal minus all the extra calories, sodium, sugar and fat. Especially if you’re trying to lose weight, or just maintain your great shape.

So listed below are your options for a large burger, large fries and large soda.

*Down Size Your Portions.

But first, before I share them with you, I think the first thing you should do is down size all three items. Go for smaller versions. Why? It’s all about portion control. You really don’t need to have the large version of these items in order to fill up your tank. Plus, you can make better and more valuable choices using healthier options. Remember: when you eat out don’t be afraid to resort to doing this.

*Execute the Golden Rule.

When eating out don’t be afraid to ask for healthier options, or for your food to be prepared differently. Don’t forget you’re paying for it anyway, plus, you might encourage the restaurant to start a new thing.

Be A Trend Setter!”

Now here are my BFS options.

Burger (Try It Protein Style)

Here’s what so many people are unaware of and most places don’t advertise but there is a lower calorie, fat, sodium burger option. It’s called a protein burger. What is it? It is grilled burger meat (ask for it with no or slightly salted) without the bun wrapped in lettuce, tomato, onions, or whatever other veggies (spinach, sprouts, avocado etc) you’d like. Please feel free to pile them on. Note: Including more veggies will give you the fiber you need, and it’ll make you feel fuller.

Next, try adding mustard and possibly a dash of ketchup for favor instead mayo or the restaurants high fat sauce version. Doing all these things will help you to save big on Calories, Sodium, and Fat.

*Fries (Go Baked or Grilled)

Go for the baked version if possible, or a baked potato (don’t forget most places grill, or cook their burgers so why not ask them to do the same with your fries. Don’t forget they usually have microwaves too, and a baked potato only takes about five to eight minutes.

*Soda (Make a Different Choice)

Sorry, I hate to bring you the bad news, but soda simply isn’t good for you at all. Yes, that means diet soda too. Why is it? For one, it has no nutritional value, and two, I’m sure you’ve heard; it turns into fat. So if you’re trying to trim down your waistline, and who isn’t, you should by pass it.

*Get Your Fizz On!

A better option is water. No, it doesn’t have to be boring. What you should do is try it different ways like flavored, sparkling, or mineral. Just make sure neither contains any form of sugar. Sure, they won’t taste as sweet as soda. But they’ll still provide (especially sparkling or mineral water) that fizzy and or refreshing taste just the same. The difference is minus all the calories and the sugar. If by chance the restaurant doesn’t have either then just drink plain water, and garnish it with strips of lemon, lime, or orange slices.

Now, That You Know Your Options.

OH MY!”

Can’t lose those extra pounds? Well, this could be one reason why.

Did you know that research studies show that fifty percent of the American population consumes a meal that consists of a large burger, large fries and a large soda at least once a week?  So, what about you? Are you doing it too and probably thinking, okay, what’s wrong with once a week? Well, let’s do the math.

Check This Out!

  Here are the stats on how many calories, sodium, fat and sugar content you consume eating just one large burger, fries & soda.

 1,360 calories (Two thirds of a standard day’s allotment of 2,000 calories)

Sodium 1,380 milligrams (almost an entire day’s allotment which is, 2000 milligram)

Fat content 38 percent of calories (60-65 grams day’s allotment)

<Sugar content for all three>
 95 grams, or 19 teaspoons, or 390 calories which is more than double what the American heart association recommends for one day. WOW! These figures are just for once a week, double them for twice a week; triple them for three times a week.  

SO, I ask again, could this be one reason why you can’t lose those extra pounds?  It could be very likely.

What can you do about? How can you keep the burgers, soda, and fries, off your thighs?
